Ye-Sho Chen, director of the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business’ Modern Chinese Business & Culture Initiative and professor in the Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences, was invited to speak at the 38th Annual Meeting of the Decision Sciences Institute on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007.
Chen spoke about the college’s China initiative as part of an invited panel that explored various formats used by U.S. schools to educate their students about Chinese business and culture.
“I discussed my involvement in helping to develop a China minor in the International Trade and Finance Program, the Chinese language courses offered at LSU and the flexibility of studying at leading universities in China, the development of a study abroad program with Tongji University, and how we are working with businesses and students to develop summer internships in China,” Chen said.
Joining Chen on the panel were Robert T. Sumichrast from the University of Georgia, Linda Kao of Southern Methodist University, and Stanley Chang of Ernst & Young.
