Seth Thibodeaux

THIBODEAUX HIRED AS CAREER SERVICES MANAGER

December 3, 2007

The Flores MBA Program in LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business has named Seth Thibodeaux as its new manager of its career services.

Thibodeaux, who possesses a background in recruiting human resources, assumed his new position earlier this month. His duties primarily involve improving Flores MBA student’s résumés, providing advice on job searches, and sharpening interview skills. With experience as an instructor of public speaking, Thibodeaux offers a number of intangible resources to students looking to obtain internships, find full-time jobs, or simply boost their occupational appeal in general.

David Crary, director and associate dean of the Flores MBA Program, acknowledged what someone with Thibodeaux’s capacities can contribute to the college.

“Many corporate recruiters have said that while MBA graduates often have strong technical skills, very few demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and other so-called soft skills,” Crary said. “With the addition of Seth to our staff, we can give our students a competitive edge in this area.”

Having formerly worked in the LSU Office of Career Services as coordinator of job search and employment services, Thibodeaux is committed to what he calls the “soft skill training” associated with attracting employers. Optimistic about what lies ahead for the program and for the students he counsels, he is confident in what his leadership can bring to the strength and marketability of Flores MBAs.

“In the coming months we will be working hard with our Flores MBA students to let them know how important and beneficial a comprehensive job search can be in finding not only a great job but the career they are looking for,” Thibodeaux said.
