The business incubator of LSU’s Louisiana Business & Technology Center, an integral part of the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute in LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, recently welcomed four new tenants – BioFluidica Microtechnologies, Soft Source Inc., DBSysgraph and WHYR Talk Radio.
BioFluidica is a Baton Rouge-based developer of bio-analytical instruments for DNA analysis. BioFluidica's instruments will be compact, portable, inexpensive, convenient and automated with no need for skilled technicians. Established in 2007, the company will seek to provide health care professionals and forensic investigators with instruments and peripherals for fast, accurate and inexpensive analysis of DNA.
Soft Source is an SBA 8(a) certified Georgia Corporation that specializes in innovative solutions in the areas of engineering, construction and the information technology-enabled service industry. In a highly dynamic industry, Soft Source has been able to establish niche markets and offer on- and off-site tailored technical support solutions. Soft Source’s capabilities include strategic and tactical planning; technical evaluation; scope, schedule and quality planning; project planning and budgeting and bottom-up task integration.
DBSysgraph is a software development and consulting firm that specializes in the technology needs of both public and private sector organizations. The company’s primary focus is on Web-based geographic information systems technology. Other functions include providing business solutions such as improving existing business processes to enhance customer service, deploying highly interactive networked applications and creating customized software. Established in 1999, DBSysgraph offers a wide range of technical solutions, systems integration and other services to individuals and enterprises internationally.
WHYR is a full-service radio broadcasting company that provides a global platform for sponsors and programming. The company focuses on transmitting conservative talk radio programming from South Baton Rouge. To achieve global outreach performance, WHYR provides live streaming video solutions and development and implementation of these solutions through the use of cutting edge audio and video streaming technology applications.
The purpose to the LBTC’s small business incubator is to create a dynamic environment whereby businesses can focus on product or technology development as well as sales and marketing. The LBTC provides facilities, furniture and equipment when available, management assistance, administrative assistance and back office support to its tenants.
