SPONSORS SOUGHT FOR LLU 2008

February 29, 2008

Louisiana Looking Up 2008, which will be hosted by the Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter, is scheduled to be held Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 from 1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. This will be the fifth annual Louisiana Looking Up event, a yearly tradition that began in 2004.

As in years past, the Flores MBAAA-Louisiana Chapter is asking any businesses, individuals or groups interested in sponsoring Louisiana Looking Up at any level to please do so. Sponsorship packages range from major sponsor designation to table sponsor designation. There are various benefits for each pledge amount, and previous sponsors have included The Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, Dow Chemical Company, Jones Walker Law Firm, Louisiana Economic Development, Entergy, The Shaw Group, SSA Consultants, Ernst & Young, LUBA Workers’ Comp, Shadow Broadcasting, Adams and Reese LLP and many others.

Louisiana Looking Up 2007’s theme – Celebration of Entrepreneurship in Louisiana – brought panelists such as Boysie Bollinger, CEO of Bollinger Shipyards Inc.; Louis DeAngelo Jr., CEO of Louis DeAngelo Restaurants; David Blossman, CEO of Abita Brewing Company LLC; and Chris Ferrara, CEO of Ferrara Fire Apparatus Inc. to the campus. They were joined by many others and U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings made an appearance as a speaker as well.

This year’s event promises to bring more quality business individuals to LSU and will do so during a very busy time for the E. J. Ourso College of Business. LLU 2008 is scheduled to take place the day prior to the college’s annual Alumni Party on Sept. 26, 2008, which this year will call alumni of the E. J. Ourso College, the College of Commerce, the College of Business Administration and their guests back home the night before defending National Champion LSU hosts Mississippi State in Tiger Stadium.
