LSU’s Flores MBA Program, the flagship program of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, will offer a concentrated series for those wishing to prepare for the Certified Internal Auditor Exam without actually having to enroll in LSU as a matriculating student. Sessions will be facilitated by the college’s internationally-renown Center for Internal Auditing.
While the classes will not earn participants course credit, they will convey the actual material covered in the program, compacting the traditional three semesters of coursework into 18, eight-hour days. These classes emphasize tactical, strategic and operational auditing as a value-added consultative function. Additional topics covered include corporate governance, risk and controls.
Class dates will be held on the following dates from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.:
- 2008
Nov. 1-2 and 22-23, Dec. 6-7 and 13-14
- 2009
Jan. 3-4 and 24-25, Feb. 14-15, Mar. 7-8 and 21-22
Following successful completion of the series, participants must sit for the Certified Internal Auditor Exam to receive the certified internal auditor designation. This exam is administered by the Institute for Internal Auditors and is not included in the series.
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required along with the application form by Oct. 15, 2008. The remaining balance of $3,500 may be paid in full or in two monthly installments of $1,750. The cost of the series includes textbooks and course materials.
