LBTC GRADUATE COMPANY RECOGNIZED AS FEDERAL LAB SUCCESS STORY

April 9, 2008

International Mezzo Technologies, a microstructure production developer for scientific research and graduate company of the Louisiana Business and Technology Center, was recognized recently by the Federal Labs for its success.

Mezzo has been working with the Air Force Research Lab’s Space Cryogenic Cooling Technology Group since 2002 on the design and manufacture of advanced regenerators and of other devices aimed at assisting the Missile Defense Agency. As a result of its efforts, Mezzo has received much civic and professional praise. Additionally, it has been commissioned to build a new facility in Louisiana.

“We are incredibly proud to have been involved with a business that has enjoyed so much success and that has been both so remarkably helpful to the defense of our country and so committed to the overall betterment and efficiency of commercial research operations,” said Charles D’Agostino, executive director of the LBTC. “As we continue to graduate aspiring companies, this reinforcement that our influence and aid goes well beyond the entrepreneurial circuit and into national improvement gives us enormous confidence in terms of how we work with our tenants.”

The Louisiana Business & Technology Center, an integral part of LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business’ Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, endeavors to enhance economic development in Louisiana through the support of existing small businesses and the development of new businesses. Established in 1988, the LBTC’s highly successful business incubator program has been honored as the National Business Incubator Association’s Incubator of the Year.
