LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business accounting major Trista Sanders received the highest student score on the international Certified Internal Auditor Exam administered in November 2007.
A native of Iowa, La., Sanders will graduate from LSU in May and has accepted a position with Ernst and Young in San Francisco, Calif. She is the 16th LSU Center for Internal Auditing student to achieve this designation, and, as part of the award, she will receive an expense-paid trip to the Institute for Internal Auditors International Conference in San Francisco, Calif. this summer to be honored.
LSU CIA Director Glenn Sumners lauded Sanders’ achievement.
“Trista accepted the LSU CIA challenge to pass the CIA exam,” Sumners said. “All of her hard work and dedication resulted in her attainment of this award. She serves as a role model for other students.”
Additionally, Donald Gauci, who leads Global Risk Services for the Energy Industry at Ernst & Young in the company’s Houston, Texas office, sang Sanders’ praises.
“Ernst & Young has experienced great success hiring students from LSU for its offices around the country," Gauci said. “As an alumnus of the LSUCIA program and a member of the E. J. Ourso College of Business’ Dean's Advisory Council, I appreciate the tremendous benefits of the program and am very proud of Trista's accomplishment."
