LSU Louisiana Business & Technology Center Executive Director Charlie D’Agostino was invited to participate in a keynote session at the 2008 Today’s Facility Manager Conference, which was held at Navy Pier in downtown Chicago, Ill., beginning April 22, 2008.
The session in which D’Agostino presented data and examples based on the LBTC’s establishment of a business recovery center after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita was entitled “Facility Managers and Critical Operations: Disaster Recovery Beyond Emergency Response.” The conference is designed for facility managers and commercial building operators, and the format allows speakers to answer questions submitted by facility managers nationwide.
“Our experience in assisting businesses’ recovery and preparing them for other disasters and threats has established the LBTC as a leader in post-disaster economic recovery,” D’Agostino said. “We are still working extensively with impacted companies in the hurricane areas to assist them in accelerating their economic recovery.”
In addition to D’Agostino’s presentation concerning natural disasters and recovery, other topics of discussion covered terrorist attacks and infectious diseases.
The Louisiana Business & Technology Center, an integral part of LSU’s E. J.
