    E. J. OURSO COLLEGE RANKED IN INTERNATIONAL TOP 50 BY EDUNIVERSAL

    May 25, 2009

    PARIS, France – The E. J. Ourso College of Business was notified earlier this month that it had been ranked in the Top 50 of the internationally known “Top Business Schools” by Eduniversal and was recognized during the first ever Eduniversal World Convention, held November 4-5, 2008. Eduniversal first placed the E. J. Ourso College of Business in its top 1,000 business schools worldwide ranking in October 2007.

    To develop its 1,000 top business schools ranking, Eduniversal focused on five criteria:

    • national educational expenditure per inhabitant;
    • gross domestic product of the country where the school is located;
    • country population;
    • number of students in higher education;
    • the “local educative landscape,” established according to the number of secondary schools and “the historical dimension of the national educative tradition.”

    After it finished identifying the top 1,000 business schools worldwide in March 2008, Eduniversal then placed the schools into five leagues by their level of international importance and influence, using the following criteria:

    • accreditations obtained by the business schools;
    • main rankings by media organizations;
    • participation in international academic associations;
    • opinions of international experts;
    • networks of partners and deans;
    • principle studies published;
    • recommendations from the deans of the top 1,000 business schools worldwide.

    The five leagues were first announced at the world convention in November 2008. Each league was allocated a number of palms, representing the five palms in Eduniversal’s logo, with schools in the top league receiving five palms. The E. J. Ourso College of Business received four palms, the designation for the “Top Business Schools” category, placing alongside institutions such as Boston College, Johns Hopkins University, Tulane University, Vanderbilt University, Wake Forest University, the University of Georgia and the College of William and Mary.
