    November 2, 2009

Jamison Day, assistant professor in the E. J. Ourso College of Business’ Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences and Stephenson Disaster Management Institute Research Affiliate, has had his paper, “Information Flow Impediments in Disaster Relief Supply Chains,” published in the Journal of the Association for Information Systems.

According to the abstract, “The study concentrates on the efforts of multiple organizations and individuals that provided relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which battered the Gulf Coast of the southeastern United States in late 2005. Data was gathered from diverse sources, including government agencies, profit and non-profit organizations, and individuals, during and after the disaster.”

Co-authors of the paper are Iris Junglas and Leiser Silva, both from the University of Houston.

Day’s paper was published in the August 2009 issue of JAIS and can be viewed here.
