Eli Jones, dean of LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, is featured in the cover story of the current Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.
The five-page article, titled “Have pitch, will travel,” discusses Jones’ successful career as a sales professional with companies like Quaker Oats and as an educator at both Texas A&M and LSU. Additionally, the article highlights his natural abilities to network with the community, market his initiatives and ultimately raise funds to achieve his goals for the E. J. Ourso College of Business despite multiple hurricanes, budget cuts and the recession.
“We’re still focused,” Jones is quoted as saying. “I have not waivered, and we are still moving forward in spite of roadblocks. In spite of a global financial crisis, we were able to break ground on the brand-new business education complex. And to me, that’s just incredible.”
