    BASF REPRESENTATIVE SPEAKS TO SREA

    October 18, 2010

BATON ROUGE–LSU’s Student Real Estate Association hosted Donald Smith, BASF Real Estate Manager, at its September 30, 2010 meeting. Smith spoke to SREA about many topics, including the history of BASF and his day-to-day responsibilities.

Smith stated he relished the chance to visit with the SREA members.

"I hope that the students enjoyed my presentation as much as I enjoyed the opportunity to speak to them,” Smith said. “I enjoyed my LSU visit very much and would be pleased to speak to the students again in the future."

Kenny Nguyen, treasurer of SREA, said Smith gave him a unique career perspective.

"Donald Smith was a great example of someone who has been thrown into the real estate game by chance, yet worked his way up the corporate ladder,” Nguyen said. “I now have a great glance of what duties and expected lifestyles one would have to partake of to be involved in corporate real estate."

Smith’s presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session.

BASF is the world's leading chemical company, serving customers and partners in almost all countries of the world.  More information about BASF can be found here.
