BATON ROUGE – The LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business invites all alumni, students, friends and anyone interested in the college to come out Saturday, November 13, 2010, for LSU Day to celebrate the university’s sesquicentennial. LSU Day will be held at the University Recreation Center Complex Field of Excellence, located on South Campus Drive, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
As part of the university’s 150th anniversary, which will be observed the same day as homecoming, the E. J. Ourso College will provide a glimpse of the many contributions it makes to benefit Louisiana via numerous displays and exhibits. The college’s tent at the event will feature representatives from several departments, centers, institutes, programs and offices.
Scheduled to participate at the event are:
- The Undergraduate Program;
- Office of Advancement;
- Alumni & External Relations;
- LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute;
- LSU Stephenson Disaster Management Institute;
- Department of Accounting;
- Department of Finance;
- Rucks Department of Management;
- Department of Marketing;
- Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences;
- LSU Flores MBA Program;
- Public Administration Institute;
- LSU Center for Internal Auditing;
- Diversity & Inclusion Initiative.
In addition to the college’s contributions, another unique aspect of the E. J. Ourso College will be on hand for LSU Day—Capital Gains. Made up of faculty members and an alumnus of the LSU Flores MBA Program, Capital Gains is a cover band that has appeared at numerous events over the last couple of years. The band will perform on the LSU Day stage from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a few breaks in-between. Additionally, the Louisiana Business & Technology Center’s Mobile Classroom will be parked and open on South Campus Drive for visitors to explore.
