The Society of Human Resource Management at LSU has donated a one-year gift subscription of HR Magazine to the LSU Business Residential College.
Laura Wolfe, instructor for the Rucks Department of Management, asked that BRC residents be on the lookout for the first issue, as the order is currently processing.
“We hope that students will enjoy reading about human resource management,” Wolfe said.
Joni Catanzaro, rector for the BRC, said the magazines will be a welcome addition to the BRC library.
“Because the BRC is a living-learning environment, we are constantly looking for ways to bring real-world issues and situations into these students’ home on campus,” Catanzaro said. “This donation by SHRM is a great way to do that.”
The Society for Human Resource Management is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries, the Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession. Founded in 1948, SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China and India.
The Rucks Department of Management at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business endeavors to prepare students for careers in fields such as international management, human resources, entrepreneurship and industrial/labor relations. A generous donation by LSU alumnus William W. Rucks and his wife, Catherine, has aided the department in securing faculty who are repeatedly recognized for their research and has aided student-affiliated organizations in achieving top honors nationally.
