Hank Danos, chief executive officer and president of Danos & Curole Marine Contractors, and Joseph Mason, a professor of finance and the Hermann Moyse, Jr./Louisiana Bankers Association Endowed Chair of Banking in LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, were both quoted by TheTownTalk.com in the article, “Deepwater ban lifted? Bill would speed oil-drilling permits,” as they were among the witnesses at a hearing in Washington D.C. on three bills to speed oil-drilling permits.
“This legislation would create some certainty, some confidence and most importantly, some jobs,” the article quoted Danos as saying. Danos was recently inducted into the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Hall of Distinction and received his bachelor’s in business administration from LSU in 1971.
“Mason said the Gulf region had a robust economy before the moratorium shut down offshore drilling there during a recession,” the article stated. “He said bills to speed new drilling permits could cause a ripple effect and spur job growth across the country.”
